What is Special Population?

Special Population is a group with a special need or with specific medical condition, whom require expertise and supervision to assist them to achieve their goals and/or overcome their specific medical condition.
Special population includes Juniors Program under 15 years old, Seniors Program over 65 years old, Pregnancy Program and Medical Condition Program.


What should you know before joining a Special Population Program?

• What makes Gold’s Gym health experts different?
• Are you aware of your condition and your age needs?
• Do you have a doctor’s consent to join a work out or a nutrition program?
• Should you pay for a membership fee or just a one-to-one package fee?
• What is the price list? And are their any packages?
• How long is each session? And what is the cancellation policy?
• Are you going to have a copy of the contract and bill?
• Are you going to write your feedback about each session?


Senior Program

As you approach your middle years and if your body is not well cared for, a physiological process of aging will take its toll.
The effects of normal aging begin to become apparent.
Various organs and systems begin to display deterioration.
The effects of this deterioration present themselves as heart disease, arthritis, elevated blood pressure and low back problems to name a few.
Other changes that occur include decreases in hormone production and elasticity begins to diminish in muscles, skin and blood vessels.
Hereby, researches consider the regular exercise and proper nutrition program is the best anti-ageing pills.


Junior Program

Juniors are different from adults anatomically, physiologically, and emotionally. They are not miniature adults.
Therefore, we cannot use the same training methods or motivational techniques on growing children as we do with mature adults.


Pregnancy Program

Sensible exercise can be a safe and productive undertaking for both a pregnant woman and her fetus.
Benefits of exercise to pregnant women include the following:
• Reduces the severity and frequency of back pain;
• Enhances prenatal weight management efforts;
• Helps pregnant women counteract the feelings of stress or anxiety;

Medical Condition Program

Hypertension is a primary risk factor for coronary heart disease (the leading cause of adult deaths in the United States). This is not surprising because high blood pressure adds to the workload of your heart and arteries. Researches shows that exercise on a regular basis and maintaining a desirable bodyweight can be effective in the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure.
Proper nutrition, such as, moderating the amount of salt in the diet, consuming adequate amounts of calcium, magnesium and potassium, can also be effective in the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure.

Diabetes has been shown to increase the likelihood of suffering from heart disease, stroke, gangrene, kidney disease and a serious eye disorder called retinopathy. Exercise can have a significant effect not only in helping diabetics control their disease and reducing risks of its life-threatening complications, but also in greatly decreasing an individual’s chances of incurring the disease in the first place. Exercise can lower excess blood sugar levels, strengthening the muscles and the heart, improving circulation.

Arthritis refers to a disease that causes pain or stiffness in skeletal joints. The Arthritis Foundation states that arthritis has a cost that goes beyond pain (medical care),
Numerous studies have been conducted in the last decade showing that properly performed exercise can have several benefits for arthritis sufferers.

Asthma is a tightening of the airways of the lungs, which results from either undue inflammation of the lining of the airways or specific triggering factors.
In recent years, many individuals have found that regular exercise can also be a positive means for asthma therapy.
The key to exercise effectiveness as a therapeutic option for asthma sufferers is that it makes breathing more efficient.
